What to Expect from the Therapy Process
-
1. Free Initial Phone Consultation
We’ll begin with a short call to explore your needs, goals, and preferences – including whether you're looking for in-person or video therapy. This helps determine how my mental health services can support you or your family members.
-
2. Comprehensive Initial Assessment
If we decide to move forward, our first session will be an in-depth, initial evaluation using Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). Together, we’ll explore the emotional patterns beneath your symptoms and begin the process of emotional resolution. When helpful, I also integrate cognitive behavioral tools to support symptom relief.
-
3. Ongoing Weekly or Biweekly Sessions
After the initial assessment, therapy continues with 50–100 minute sessions, typically once or twice a week. The length of treatment varies depending on your goals and needs, but many clients experience meaningful progress within a few months.
